Well...long time no see (or read in this case). We were discharged from the hospital and ended the second round September 16th so we were able to be home for a full week and a half!!! It was great, amazing, peaceful, fun, relaxing, everything we hoped for. It was great seeing him run around the house like a "normal" toddler where you question how such a little body has so my energy.
While we were home, we came back to the hospital on the 21st to check his blood, see if he needed any transfusions, and to also do a bone marrow biopsy. First thing, his counts all looked amazing - ANC (white blood count) was over 1,000 and he didn't need any blood or platelet transfusions because his body is producing everything it needs on its own! His counts looked so good the doctors said he could have started the 3rd round of chemo that day but they weren't expecting his counts to be so high and they didn't have a room ready for him - which is A.O.K. With us because that means we got to spend more time at home!
Second great news, his biopsy still shows no signs of Leukemia! Praise the Lord!!!
Today we got admitted back into the hospital to start round 3...
Please pray for strength for Reece. This round of chemo is only 5 days of actual medicine bite its at a much higher dosage than he's had thus far. Also, please pray for the doctors and. Rises looking after him - that they have the knowledge they need and protection against infection and disease.
Our new room is at the Children's Hospital in Houston, West Tower, Room 922.
Thank you all for the continual prayers and good thoughts even during the quiet times.
